WOMEN’S FINANCIAL LITERACY AND EMPOWERMENT NETWORK is a network of women entrepreneurs, financial literacy organizations and women-led cooperative societies who are also professional members of the Pan African Institute for Entrepreneurship and Community Development. The Network has more than 100 memberships in 3 states of the Federation and have carried out series of workshops and trainings in the areas of financial literacy, community development, skill acquisitions, agriculture, financial inclusion and entrepreneurship to mention but few.

WFLEN works with regulators, industry association, CSOs, cooperative societies and government at all levels to empower, educate and enhance the knowledge of rural women, young men and women including children on financial literacy, entrepreneurship and money understanding. WFLEN conduct training programs for schools, community associations and organizations providing financial advise.

WFLEN designs educational materials on financial literacy for teachers and students and advocating for a compulsory financial education in school curriculum and calling for an African Day for financial education.

Financial Literacy

Advocacy

WFLEN is advocating for an African Day for financial education and government agency to protect the consumers of financial products, supervise banking practices and to tackle fraud.

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, it is an attitude. WFLEN leverage on free access to Pan African Institute for Entrepreneurship and Community Development courses, resources, information and expertise to give free training and certification to rural women, young people, farmers and artisans.

Skills Development

Vocational skills are offered in fashion designing, clothing technology, barbing, repairs and maintenance and other areas addressing specific business and employment opportunities.
